A CHAT WITH PEDDLERS

- Why are you still outside in this freezing weather?

- We are selling things to make money for clothes! During weekdays we are at school, but at the weekend our dad drive us up here.

- So where are your parents then, are they waiting for you here right now?

- My parents work in the fields far away in Lao Chai, so they only drop us here in the morning and pick us up in the afternoon as soon as we make a call. When we need to do so, we just borrow phones from people around us.

- Well, are you bored staying up here for so long? Do you guys play any games or do any fun activities here?

- We don't know anyone really, so all day we just go peddling with babies on our back. At home though, we often jump rope and play soccer with our parents & friends. It’s really fun!

⁃ Sounds good! On a side note, have you ever thought about your dream job?

⁃ Dream job? My dream is to become a doctor in the future, and she wants to be a teacher, but for now we just want to sell a lot so that we have clothes to wear for school.
